Building Industry Workshop

As a home builder or renovator in Ontario, you need to understand the characteristics of a good construction contract. Often contract responsibilities are poorly defined, in particular with respect to payments terms, owner/builder obligation, who provides what, who pays for what, and what is to be built.  In this half day workshop, you will learn the main principles of contract law in Canada including what constitutes a good contract and what impacts your right to terminate the contract. This workshop will review the key requirements of Ontario’s Construction Act.  The Act regulates how payments are made, how disputed are to be resolved, and where the lien deadlines effect your rights.
